I am looking for any information on Wilfred Stuart William. Other spellings may be the reason that unable to find. Spellings could be different and the Stuart-William was hyphenated, but may not show on records.
Wilfrid Stuart William Stuart-William, Stuart-Williams, S William Williams I have not managed to find any GROs for him.
I have one census record for him in 1901 Ampthill, Woburn, Bedfordshire from the 1901 census. But no others with Wilfrid on them!
Wilfrid was an engineer in India
Fathers name was James William (no other information to go on)
Other locations known are Oxford possible school or University.
Born about 1864 Died about 1906 possible India Married 27/09/1893 to Mabel Hawkins The marriage date for Mabel Hawkins and Wilfrid was from a distant relative, but he was not sure where he got the info from. I do not know if Wilfrid was divorced from Mable Hawkins. So a GRO from that would be great.
Married Alice Jane Robson (my great Nan), about 1903 give or take a few years. Possible Marriage in Newcastle upon Tyne may even have been in India. Or may have been married around North Humberland areas as my granddad was born in Newcastle Later a girl was born 1904 in Surrey and on her birth certificate father was Wilfrid Stuart-William GRO needed for the wedding, if married in England
My granddad was brought up only by his mother Alice Jane Stuart William. (She was a governess) So I am looking for information on her and Wilfrid Stuart-William. He died in India from dysentery in 1906 information given to me. No death info found
Because none of this information was passed down the line, it is only what I have found since my granddad passed away. So unsure even if Alice knew anything about Wilfred’s previous marriage to Mabel Hawkins and his 2 or 3 children from that marriage!
The birth information for Mable is still of use to me as I know that Wilfrid had 2 or 3 children from Mabel’s marriage. As well as 2 children from Alice Jane Stuart William (Nee Robson)
Any help would be much appreciated as come to a dead end. Thank you in advance Anne

The two young sons were born in India.............
I find it odd that two living daughters (of the Hawkins family) should both have the name Maud(e)

Where does Alice Jane Robson fit in with this?
If she was your great-grandmother - which of her children was your grandparent?
Please tell us what you know about this person - full name, year of birth, place of birth.

If you wish to find GRO info, just go to freebmd and search
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/
It covers England and Wales only between 1837 and 1935-ish

This is Alice on the 1911
STUART WILLIAM HECTOR M 1903 8 Richmond Surrey STUART WILLIAM MONA F 1905 6 Richmond Surrey STUART WILLIAM ALICE F 1873 38 Richmond Surrey
I forgot to say that if Wilfred junior (Lawrence) was born 1896 to Mabel, then the marriage to Alice Robson seems later. Perhaps 1900 is a closer year.
Edit: Had a mad moment. Just realised he is with Mabel on the 1901 and Alice is the parent of Hector born 1903!
Is this his children's births
Births Jun 1903 STUART-WILLIAM Hector Lisle Newcastle T. 10b 94
Births Dec 1904 STUART-WILLIAM Mona Wilfrida Richmond, S. 2a 484

Still having problems finding a marriage for Alice Jane Robson and Wilfred Arthur Stuart William. These are my great grandparents. My Grandad Hector was born in 1903 in Newcastlle-Upon Tyne. But not sure where they met. it could have been in India. So possible marriage there!
Prior to this relationship Wilfred was married to Mabel Hawkins in India. At the moment unsure if there was a divorce! But Wilfred and Mabel did have 4 children. My grandad would not have been aware that he had half siblings when he was alive. Also found a marriage certificate for Wilfreds other son. (Wilfred) On the marriage father Wilfred was not deceased so the son may not have known about his fathers death in 1906 India, So he may have abandoned the first family.
Some records just show Wilfred as Wilfred Williams Wilfred Arthur William Wilfred Arthur Stuart-William

Wilf Stuart William was my great grandfather. There was no divorce -- he died young and his wife Mabel was my great grandmother who i knew well -- she died at 98 when i was in my 20s. she was known in her family as Dame. her grandfather was Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins, a sculptor and artist who modeled the dinosaurs in the Great Exhibition in the mid 19th century. Dame's father was a surgeon who worked in Sebastopol during the Crimean war with Florence Nightingale. Dame won a silver medal at the Slade School of Art in London in 1871. hope this helps ....

Anna was my grandmother, Dame's daughter, always known as Peggy. Married to Place, children were Basil Charles Godfrey, and Helen Margaret my mother. Godfrey won a VC in WW II as a mini sub commander attacking the Tirpitz. Helen married Ernest Marchant Kenber (originally Schnackenberg) and I am their son. i have one brother, Tony (younger than me). I'm English but have lived in the USA since 1972. Married to Patricia Buckler in 1968 -- two sons, Daniel and Benjamin.
