Looking for descendants of James Griffin b. 1871 Bury, Lancashire, married 1899 to Ann Jane McNally b. 1875 Sleetburn, County Durham. Their children were Vincent b. 1904 Preston, Lancashire, Thomas b. 1905, Dublin, Ireland and Philomena b. 1907 Curragh Camp, Kildare, Ireland. James served with the 4th East Lancashire Regiment from 1888 to 1914 then as a reservist during WW1. My grandfather was Thomas. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Hello, My name is Patricia Adams nee Griffin, my father was Vincent James Griffin.
He died in 1952 from stomach cancer. I have no memories of him and only one photo, he was Head Sommelier.at the Grand Hotel in Manchester. From his friends I learned ne was well liked and a gentleman and he spoke with a cultured Irish accent.He and my Mother were not married as he already had a wife who refused to give him a divorce, I believe there were no children from this marriage. I did not find all this out until my Mother had died , she would not talk about my father which upset me deeply, I think I now know why. We live at that time at 126 Radnor St Hulme Manchester. Phyliss married a Patrick McGinty and had three sons she lived in Boltom Lancashire which was near where I lived but my mother had nothing to do with her, I always wanted to meet her as my Aunt told me she had wanted to adopt me after my fathers death. My grandfather was a professional soldier he fought in a few wars and was posted in Ireland after the 1st WW. His family were there hence the accent.. I married Eugene in 1969 and have 4 children. I knew your grandfather had emigrated to Australia, this is all I can think of for the moment if I think of anything else I will post you. Kind regards Patricia
