Find Ancestors

Have been trying to trace what happened to my great aunt for over 10 years now - she lost contact with her sisters in approx 1936. We believe she was a nurse in the war (possibly in the Kilburn area). Really puzzled to find out what happened to her. Can only find record of her birth on Genes Reunited.

I also note that you are researching the word 'Fishlock' is this a place or a name? Hope you don't mind me asking but I remember visiting the road where my great grandfather John lived in Ludlow town centre and I'm sure it had the word 'Fish' in the road name but have been back several times since but never managed to find it and wondered if I'm just getting it confused with 'Fishmore' which I think is further out of the centre. I should have looked at the image first lol...all the children except Charity are on that last record, address 'The Goggin' father John is a groom...on the previous record for John Alfred it gives 20 Fishmore road.

Oh my...it says on the image that the "cause of leaving" for the 5 children was "Gone to the workhouse" :-( Florence and Ellen Jane 13/3/1918, May harriett and John Alfred ion 13/3/1920 and Roseanna 13/3/1914.

Rambling Rose - you have given me so much info here thank you. Very sad to hear that they went to the Workhouse (although I know they were incredibly poor and there were a total of 13 children altogether although most died as newborns). My grandmother was a triplet (Faith, Hope & Charity), she was born 1909. Hwe mother died after Elsie was born (I believe Elsie died age 7 of diphtheria). I have a photograph of my nan as a child and she appears to be dressed in maids clothes outside a manor house - I have never managed to find out where the house is/was - I hope that maybe she escaped the fate of the Workhouse and was in Service perhaps. My great grandfather John worked as a Blacksmith at the Feathers Hotel in Ludlow.

I have dipped into my family history for over 10 years now and in less than an hour, you have given me more information than I was able to gain in all that time :-)

EDIT No, I think this one was born in 1882 according to the 1939 Register.

Can definitely rule out Rose Alice as there is a separate birth registration for her in 1909 to my Rosenna Bridgwater (1906) - Was very hopeful there with the nursing connection but it seems unfortunately not.
