Are you sure that it was R VW camp??

I've found reference to E V W camps after WW2, with E V W standing for European Voluntary Workers

These were persons from continental Europe invited by the British government in 1946-1951 to work in the United Kingdom in sectors experiencing labour shortages as a result of the Second World War. The largest EVW programme, in terms of numbers of workers, was the Westward Ho! scheme approved in 1946. It involved the recruitment of men and women of predominantly Eastern European origin, including Ukrainians, from displaced persons camps mainly in Germany and Austria.

Yes they did marry in a church, st Mary's, mount pleasant, Chorley. I know he fought in the war and was in the trenches but whether that was for the English or Polish army I don't know. How would I go about getting his army record?

There's nothing about the camp on their website, as far as I can see, but it might be worth asking them.

Did they marry in church?... Just wondering about other records that might be out there.

Is it possible that Stefan served in the Army here?
If so, you might be able to apply for a copy of his Army record.

We did this for a deceased Polish relative, who settled in UK and found it very informative, giving place of birth, parents names and a sibling's name too, as well as a photo of the man who served.

Can't seem to find anything else.

Not sure about the about the New York passenger list. The deaths are right they died a few years before I was born.

I have just received my grandparents wedding certificate in the hope of finding where they come from. As far as I know they were both born in Poland and came over during or after the war. He (Stefan Czarnobaj) was living in R.V.W camp in campden Glos. does anyone know what that was?
She (Karolina korzeniowska) was living at the highways hostel in Euxton, which I have found a little information about.
So I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the camp, on travel or displacement records and in tracing ancestry in Poland.
