Someone has added Elspet's maiden name to this 1841 census.(Elspet is a more likely name for James's mother rather than Elsie)

Thanks so much for message and information. Have now got James Cruickshank's death. 16/03/1896. Parents George Cruickshank, Elsie Taylor.
Still unable to find a birth for Mary Cruickshank as may give a clue as why mother is named as Mary Cruickshank nee Moffat on marriage Cert. I will continue my search.

Will send you the image of Christian / Christina's death certificate. Had a look on Scotlandspeople and the one married to James was the daughter of Charles STEPHEN and Jane Robertson.

George Ford and Mary Cruickshank are my husband's gt.grandparents and I
do know they emigrated with most of their family to USA
Do not think the Cruickshank/Black marriage are the same people.
James Cruickahsnk's father named George on baptism record. On death
Record father's name Alexander

Have only been able to find baptism for James Cruickshank Oct.1818

I don't think civil registration began in Scotland until 1855 so there won't be a birth certificate or a marriage certificate. You would need to look at parish records.

Trying to find birth and mother for Mary Cruickshank 1839/40 Newmachar district,
Aberdeen. Marriage cert to George Foord (Ford) 27/09/1861 states parents as
James Cruickshank and Mary Cruickshank mn Moffat.
On USA census Mary gives her birth as Oct 1839.
1841/51/61 census have James with a wife Christian, cannot find a marriage
for James with either Christian or Mary.
