I have no Scottish links (as yet!) and know very little about the records available, but I have a death I am interested in as a possible link.

Name - Barbara Faull
Age - 75+
Year - not sure but it is definitely after 1986 and before 2000

Any help would be most appreciated, especially interested if it gives year of birth x

The website for Scottish records is scotlandspeople.gov.uk.
It's not a subscription site, unfortunately - you'll have to buy credits.

Quite a lot of Scottish records are now on other sites too, such as Ancestry, but the 1911 Scottish census is only on SP, and it's the best source of BMD's

You can buy a copy of the cert via SP for £12, to see all the details.

The images of older records can be viewed/printed/saved for a few credits; Births up to 1915, marriages up to 1940, and deaths up to 1965. That's much cheaper than buying a copy of the cert.

Scottish death certificates after the mid 1960s give the date of birth if the informant knew it.

As I mentioned on another thread, I am going to the SP centre in Glasgow on Monday.
I will look at that 1993 death cert for you.
Due to date restrictions,I will not be allowed to take a printout but, I can note all the info from the cert
