(The only information I have about James Hayes(Annie's father) he was presented with a pocket watch which is inscribed 'James Hayes 5th August 1893, Hathaways No.2 Mill, New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA)

Edits (seems that Company was founded in 1888, so perhaps he was there around that time. Fitter, as in Mechanic type perhaps, helping with Machinery?, guessing!)

Hi Chris Ho have all info on family it was not being able to find James on the 1891 UK Census, been talking to my Dad tonight and he's says his Dad (my Grandfather) always said we had family that went to USA and India fitting spinning/ looms in connection with cotton industry

Yes, posted Birth as was trying to narrow timescale...
Looking round on google search, seems to be references of Fitters, Mule Erectors going to India etc., could also just be as J. Hayes/Heyes too, quite a few!.

Chris :)
