Hi there, just reading through all the posts. George A was Evelyn's Father and Raymond's Grandfather, George L was Raymond's Uncle and Ethel his Aunt, not married, they were brother and sister. Evelyn died in 1945, 5 Gilbey Rd was the family home that Evelyn grew up in and Charlemont Rd must have been her marital home with her husband Henry McVitie. I personally was not aware of Raymond despite visiting Ethel and George at their home in Gilbey Rd as a child on numerous occasions, they never mentioned Raymond, although it would seem they were still in contact with him??? Given that he was living with them in 1952. Could I ask what all of these yearly "view records" refer to Maddy and where they are found? Are they him moving house? |

Thank you all for getting back to me. Yes you are all correct, that is the family. The marriage to Hall threw me as it was in Manchester. Did they stay in Manchester? Were the children born in Manchester? Freda lived in Manchester!!! |

Good Afternoon all, I am hoping that somebody can help me, I have just recently found (yesterday) a new member to my family. Raymond Robert Seymour Palmer registered June 1925 Wandsworth 1d 844 (freeBMD), death was in 1995 West Sussex (ancestry.com). His mother was Evelyn Zoe Beatrice Palmer, born 1906 registered in Kingston, his father unknown. I believe he may have been put up for adoption although not sure when, could have been the same time as his sister although to separate families. His sister is Freda Evelyn Winifred Palmer born 1927 registered Battersea, adopted 1929 we believe to family/family friend as there are no adoption records, Freda is still alive and nearly 90 and is trying to trace her relatives. We have found all of her half siblings and believe Raymond may be a full sibling. Although he is no longer alive we are hoping to maybe find children. An added bonus would be a Father for Raymond as Freda's birth certificate does not state one. I believe the father was killed in a wagon shunting accident in around 1926, whilst Evelyn was pregnant with Freda. Any help would be very much appreciated. I hope I have given you enough information to go on |
