Lainey...The history is quite interesting but very difficult to plough through...JMB died penniless after hiving of the Lands in the Co Caven and Tyrone...yes he was there also...! It was all done to prevent bankruptcy and make sure the daughters had generous settlements..son Charles from second marriage had the validity of all this taken to the Courts (he had the land in the Co Tyrone)....

I will try to send the details via a PM .....

See following post re Rebecca's Claim

Thank you for that Eringobragh1916 it has stopped me wondering how they were linked as I doubt I would ever reach the reign of James 1st .but it is always good to know .regards

Eringobragh1916 Report 20 Sep 2016 19:57

Lainey... Manor of Tullyvin. The connection to Archibald Moore and Brent Moore is taking you back to the Reign of James 1st when in the 11th year of his Reign he granted to AM and BM a patent to hold Manor Courts for their life time and for their Heirs in perpetuity.
The "Courts" were held until the death of JMB when the rights passed to MJB who did not continue holding them .
Given that the Patent passed to Heirs of AM and BM one can only assume JMB was a direct descendant of their family.

Lainey.....James Moore Boyle m Lydia Moore Portpatrick 1788...from this marriage I have found Maxwell Moore Boyle stated as "eldest" son and Heir......from that I assume there were other male's.They also had 3 daughters Margaret Rebecca and Lydia...

Margaret married Major Coote of Cootehill 1812
Rebecca remained a Spinster (Sued Maxwell later relative to land holdings)
Lydia....haven't found her as yet

JMB married Mary Davidson 1807 and had 1 male child from that marriage Charles Boyle.

Hello Chris...Thanks for the above ....The "painful illness" was his Liver he was living in The Cottage Cootehill at the time....
The problem with this and other families of the time is their marrying and intermarrying also they had their BMD in the newspapers...way before Registration and often Baptisms were Private....Their names didn't help either as they tended to use Family surnames and who belonged to whom is a nightmare to find...You also have to add the English Scottish connection into the mix

Lainey....I have been searching the "Archives" trying to locate children of MJB ..what is your link to this family.. How have you traced back to them?

I have found a number of bits and pieces relating to James Moore Boyle and MJB and their "land ownership" but given the fact they were Landed Gentry and married into other "Landed Gentry" The Moore's (Co.Laois) and the Townlay's and Richardson's (Co Louth) its not a simple task ......
