HI
Yes this is the sibling of Samuel. I understand he Sidney had 5 children. Mary, Sidney, Mabel, Donald and Jean. They are next on list to research.
I was aware of the fairground accident.
His wife I believe was Mabel Morgan but I have not confirmed this yet.

Thank you for this it helps me confirm I am on the right track

I'm still confused, Colin, about Ernest who you say is your grandfather. He doesn't show up on either the 1901 or 1911 census, unlikely to have been born after 1911, his mother was already 51. I had asked you when he was born but you didn't answer.

A tree on Ancestry lists 7 children of William & Louisa:
Bertie William, 1892
Charles Ernest, 1893 (is this your grandfather Ernest?)
Harry, 1895
Walter, 1897
Reginald, also 1897
Samuel, 1900
Sydney, 1902

Edit: I believe Walter & Reginald were one and the same.

Hi
Sorry about the confusion. My grand father was known as Ernest to me. His full name is Charles Ernest Albon and he was born in Potters Bar 6 February 1893. He married Margaret Davidson 27 Sept 1914. They had10 children I of whom died at a young age. Minnie 1919-1921.

The others are Margaret, Sarah, Minnie, Hilda, Irene, Susanna, William, Jean, Charles, and Betty.

My grandad moved north to Annistford in Northmberland and worked as a miner. Not sure when though.

With regards the mention of Walter, your right his full name was Walter Reginald Albon 1897-1936. He also never married
