Hello! I am trying to find out who the parents of my grandmother were. My grandmother was Dorothy Irene Taylor who married my grandfather Herbert Moses Stanworth. I belive she may have remarried in the 1979's to a William.Robertson. I was adopted as a baby and a trying to piece together my past. If you can help I would love to hear from you. Thank you!

Here, I think, is Herbert in 1939. Do you have any idea what year your grandmother was born in?

If this is her birth:-
Births Mar 1926 (>99%) Taylor Dorothy I Richardson West Derby 8b 1068
then mmn was Richardson.
If correct then this looks to be a sibling:-
Births Jun 1930 (>99%) Taylor Joyce K Richardson W.Derby 8b 1015
Do you have any idea if your grandmother had any siblings?
|
Her marriage certificate should give you her father's name and occuption, which should help find, or confirm any information found.
Marriages Dec 1946 (>99%) Taylor Dorothy I Stanworth Birmingham 9c 856 Stanworth Herbert M Taylor Birmingham 9c 856
This should also give you her address at the time of marriage, and her occupation which may help find her in 1939
|
Thank you all for your help so far.
I have managed to piece together my grandfather's side of the family which is amazing and actually found relatives.
I cannot find a Dorothy Irene Taylor born in 1926?
I had her down as either being born in 1917 or 1931 - yes very different lol. I need to order her marriage certificate I think. I just wondered if anyone knew of them.
I really don't know anything about my grandmother at all so I don't know if she had any siblings

Oh wow So Sidney and Hilda could be her parents! I have found there was a Dorothy I Taylor born to a Richardson in 1926 in West Derby.
I'm not sure on Kathleen though.
|
Sorry I just re read the above. Yes it looks like that could very well be her mmn and sibling. I have been going round a round this for two days!

hi zoe charles
Records of people younger than 100 and still alive, or who died after 1991 are officially closed.
if this is dorothy it's proberly why there is no record of her on the 1939 register

Wow this is fascinating. I felt so lost with it all and this is helping me so much. I'm just trying to process it all and put a tree together.
I'm a bit unsure who Joyce is or I'd she is a sibling. I can see that Kathleen looks ti be a sibling as she is mentioned on an electoral roll.
|
I also have another option for a sibling - Hilda Agnes Lillian who married a George Gisbourne. I found her on someone else's family tree. Any thoughts on her?
|
Her birth cert would tell you her father's name to confirm (or not) if she is a sibling:
Births Sep 1922 (>99%) Taylor Hilda A L Richarson Birmingham 6d 519
Ditto the marriage cert:
Marriages Sep 1949 (>99%) Gisbourne George Taylor Walsall 9b 2087 Taylor Hilda A L Gisbourne Walsall 9b 2087
|
Image of the birth reg does show mmn as RicharDson !
