PM from Lynn - I've replied and asked her to post on the board.
Thank you for replying to my message. I've had some info sent to me saying that Charles Martin was admitted to a lunatic asylum in Kent. This could explain why he was not with his family in the 1911 census. The entries appear to relate to Charles. The interesting thing, is the registration district Bridge is where his sister in law (Bessie's sister Ellen Selina Marsh) lived and died as well. It says he died in June 1941 at the age of 72, which means Bessie is possibly a bigamist. This seems to have opened up a big can of worms and will need some more looking into where possible. I've had my suspicions that Sidney William Martin wasn't Charles' son, more likely Sidney Pentecost is the father. Thanks again for your help. Regards Lynn.

It may have been the way the question was asked, but the Mother's maiden name should be entered. A difficult time- to register a birth and 2 deaths

Do you know Charles' full DOB, if alive he might be found via the 1939 register
Do you have Bessie and Sidney's marriage certificate? What does it say for her marital status ?

Does anyone have information about Charles Martin b.1871 Battle, Sussex. m.1899 to Bessie Vidler. I can only find info up until the 1901 census when he was living in Hellingly with his wife and daughter Ada. In the 1911 census there is no sign of him. Bessie and her children are in the 1911 census listed as boarders in Sidney C Pentecost's house in West Ashford, but no Charles Martin listed. In 1914 Bessie and Sidney were married and had a child together that died at birth when Bessie died. I can't track down a death record for Charles Martin. I'm hoping somebody may be able to help me please.
