Charles was born in 1864 and baptised on 27.3.1864 at Market Stainton. In the 1991 Census he was living in 3 Railway Terrace Grimsby with Hannah Matilda. I am unable to find a marriage of Charles Smith to Hannah.
Can anyone help

Sorry not the right marriage, his Father was Charles Smith. I should have said 1891 census, Also the baptisms of two of his children show Hannah Matilda.

The Cook would tie in as I know that Sidney is the son of the couple. Elsie I will have to pursue. I have found Anna M Cook born 1868 in the 1871 census, born 1868 at Haugham. In the 1881 census she is shown as Hannah Cook and living with her parents in Utterby. I have yet to find her on the 1891 census, can anyone else. I cannot find the marriage for Anna and Charles Smith, and I am wondering if they ever married.

re Anna M Cook born 1868, Haugham
ie, born about 1868
This is from the new GRO Index ...........
COOK, ANNA MATILDA mmn CROWSON 1867 S Quarter in LOUTH Volume 07A Page 532
Louth is the Registration District that includes Haugham
NOTE:- Hannah, Anna, Annie seem to be used interchangeably about that period.
My gt grandmother Hannah was born ca 1851, and I've found her shown under all three variants on censuses, documents, etc.

Many thanks to everyone for their contributions, it is much appreciated. I will have to pursue this at the local record office and library to see if I can find the marriage to prove the connections.
