About the marriage, I too guessed at that one, as I found George the father on an earlier census with Elizabeth HOW.. (Sorry don't have record on this device)
However, his father was not James, but Edward, a shop man, ironmongery. Unless He just didn't know, or Edward called himself James. In any case he may have died when George was young. I'm stuck with his death between 1861-1871. (Long??!) I believe this is the marriage as Elizabeth calls herself Elizabeth Mary on 1911.
It seems his father Edward married Mary lampard first and then Amelia hurst, later in 1850s when she bore Frederick and George.
