I havent been on this site for quite a while. Things have changed somewhat. There used to be someone on this site who could search Nottinghamshire baptisms from CD's that they had. I cant remember or find who it was.
But if anyone else can help Im trying to find the baptism details details of a Hannah Giles bapt in 1875 in Eastwood ,Notts. Her parents were John and Sarah Giles.
many thanks Simon

Thank you again Abby. Hannah was my great grandma. I have never been able to find her birth registry, I've tried all kinds of different name variations and nothing comes up. According to the 39 register, she was born 10 May 1875. She married my great grandad John Henry Leivers in Eastwood 1900. He was born 1874 Eastwood and in the 39 register they are living in Commercial street Mansfield , Notts. I can find all the rest of Hannah's siblings births, just not Hannah's . Basford was the registration office for this district.

The Member you were thinking of was probably Nottsgirl.
Not only does she have numerous discs, but also visits the Archives on a regular basis. Assuming she can find the baptisms there, she'd be able to give you any additional details which haven't been transcribed.
If you'd like to contact her, post on her thread. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1266434

Thank you all for trying. Yes Maylon, I think in the 81 census the enumerator must have got it wrong and put Phoebe down instead of Sarah. Phoebe was one of the daughters. I had noticed the 1876 birth registry for Hannah in Mansfield, but it's a year too late and it contradicts her baptism in 1875 so it's not that one. I did find a Annie Giles and was so curious I bought the birth certificate some years back , It wasn't the correct one either. It's a mystery that's been going on for years for me. Either her birth was never registered or it's been wildly mistranscribed somehow, but I can't see both Hannah and Giles being mistranscribed. I have always wondered if she could possibly have been adopted ?

maylon...It is possible she was someone else's child, however she does seem to slot in between the other siblings ages nicely.
Chris Ho, yes that's her parents. Thanks for the link btw
