Is it possible to find information regarding George Gerald Rowell born on the 17 June 1911 in Thurmaston Leicestershire England to Frederick James Rowell & Sarah Matilda Rowell he left home as a teenager and no relative seems to know nothing regarding him I have found out that the Regimental & Service records shows he joined up on the 24 January 1929 and deserted 27 July 1930 I have also obtained is birth certificate I would appreciated any feedback.I am is nephew William Stanley Rowell I have since fond a George G Rowell married to a Seleia Sonneville in 1940 in Gateshead but i can not find where she was born if this is George Geralds wife i believe thay had two children Raymond G born 1942 & Kenneth C Rowell born 1948 would any body know Seleia's birth place and date I have sent a requst to Kenneth but had no reply to let me know if I am on the right track

There are tho a few George G Rowell marriages any of which could be him

It would cost cert buying tho to find out

Is he in anyone tree on here ,that may help

Update on George Gerald Rowell After he deserted the forces a George Rowell appeared in the 1939 register staying at a farm as a farm labourer for a Mr and Mrs Trewhitt in Welbury Northallerton Yorkshire but there was no details of birth or place of birth he appered in Gateshead as George Rowell married to a Seleia Sonneville in1940 with two sons Raymond born 1942 and Kenneth born 1948 Kenneth had one family tree in whitch I sent a request but have had now reply I have not been able to find any details on Seleia probable born abroad it would be nice to know if this is my uncle. Peacefully at son's residence in Jersey, on December 5th, aged 89 years, Selina (Lena, nee Sonneville), beloved wife of the late George Gaston Rowell, dearly loved mam of Kenneth and the late Raymond and a much loved gran and great gran. Friends please meet for service at St. Helen's Church, Low Fell, on Thursday December 18th at 2.00pm, interment following at Saltwell Cemetery. The George Rowell on the 1939 register with the Trewhitts is not your George- his birth is first given as 5th May 1880, then later entered as 26 June 1877.
