He died in Sheffield in 1963,I have the death certificate.he was 53. I've never found a document with any middle name on it? Navy records, marriage or death certificate? I've had a look at that DOB several times, but can't prove one way or another if it's the right one? The year's wrong AND the birth quarter too? |

I found the same result as Kath narrowing down the reg district to the one which would have covered his stated birth place. |

Does Thomas have an occupation on his MC? Who were the witnesses? Sometimes they are family members. |

I've now got my grandfathers navy records. It gives his DOB as 27th April 1910,in Dalton-in-Furness,Lancashire.I have been unable to find this birth record anywhere. In 1933,he marries my grandmother-Nellie Clark. His address is given as Chatham. He's in the Royal Navy aboard the Royal Oak.His father is given as Thomas (deceased).I can't find them on the 1911 census.I don't know either of thems POB.I have found Nellie on the 1939 list at 25,Thornton Park,Dalton-in-Furness-I can't find Joseph? He was invalided from the Navy in February 1933 & in 1940 he claimed unemployment benefit at the Drill Hall in Ulverston,Lancashire. In 1946 he was a rigger in the steelworks (probably Barrow-in-Furness?) He died in 1963 in Sheffield.I'm now trying to find his & his fathers birthplace, his mothers name, his mother & fathers marriage, any siblings? The gaps from 1939-1943,1943-1946,1946-1963.There's no photographs of him in the family. No family members have much knowledge of him.ANY help/assistance MUCH APPRECIATED as I've hit a massive brick wall with this one. |
