Hi I have the following problem:
Andrew Talboys Died 1680 in Tetbury, Gloucestershire - ***No Record of a baptism or a marriage for him anywhere**** so no parents details..
Son of Andrew - Francis Talboys born 1667 in Gloucestershire (baptism 14 September 1667) - no record of a male marriage anywhere he's detailed as male by virtue of Richard (immediately below)'s baptism record. No idea who the Mother is.
**Background**
Richard, Son of Francis born 1699 (baptised 28 Sep 1699), Gloucestershire, married Hester Longden. He dies in 1767.
Benjamin, Son of Richard, born 1732, Gloucestershire, married Mary Hales
Thomas, Son of Benjamin is born 1753, Gloucestershire, marries Mary Brown(e).
Charles, Son of Thomas is born 1781 in Gloucestershire and marries Ann Bower.
I've Googled until the cows come home!

You are lucky to get back that far
Some older records just aren’t online and need a visit to the local archives for parish records etc
Way back in the 1600,s it would only be the priest usually who was able to write so records would be few and far between

Thanks - I think they come from out of area about 1600 - 1630, could the records exist just in a different area I wonder? I’ve tried a wide search on Ancestry though. There is a French Francis Talboys but they go back to France properly before about 1066 and, like the Despencers, Talboys/Talbois seems to be effectively a title so great fun (not) tracking the records ??
