The Emma Willis whom you found in 1861 in Brome, Suffolk, is not the right woman.
Brome is in Hartismere reg district.
That Emma married David Bardwell in Hartismere district in 1866.
Here she is in 1871:
Emma Bardwell in the 1871 England Census Name Emma Bardwell Age 42 Estimated Birth Year 1829 Relation Wife Gender Female Where born London England Civil parish Ipswich St Margaret Ecclesiastical parish Norwich Town Ipswich County/Island Suffolk Country England Registration district Ipswich Sub-registration district St Margaret ED, institution, or vessel 5 Household schedule number 88 Piece 1755 Folio 77 Page number 15 Household Members (Name) Age Relationship David Bardwell 41 Head Emma Bardwell 42 Wife Fredc Bardwell 3 Son

Pasting Ann's post from her other thread to keep everything together:
Hello again Community, It just dawned on me that I forgot to give some info re who Emmas son i.e. Frederick Willis - i.e. who his Father might be. Emma remained single all her life. And on Fredericks christening there is only Emma mentioned - no Father However, on Fredericks marriage cert in 1875 Frederick claims that his Father is a Robert Willis?? I think perhaps that Frederick just dreamt up a name, but perhaps that is a tad ungracious - because on other info that I have I see that Joseph Willis (Emma Janes grandfather) had a son called Robert Willis, so an uncle to Emma, great uncle to Frederick, but maybe I am reading too much into it. Again I would be much obliged for your help. Best regards Ann

Where was her son in 1861?
You stand very little chance of identifying his father - unless he is named on the child’s baptism record
Was the child’s birth registered? Have you a copy of the cert?
Parts of 1861 have not survived…….also, people sometimes simply weren’t recorded.

Hello Community Please could you help me find Emma on the 1861 census. Here is a poser, if you fancy looking into it for me. 1851 Emma 22 is a strawplaiter living with her Father John at Mentmore, also her son Frederick 8 months old. In fact here is another poser who exactly was Fredericks Father?? However by 1861 Emma 32 (no Jane) appears to be a Ladys Maid in Brome Suffolk, and claims to be from London?? I suspect that I have the wrong Emma? I can find no other Emma or Emma Jane in 1861 that seem relevant so where was she?? 1871 Emma Jane now 42 and back living at Mentmore with sister Amelia 24, and neither seems to be working. 1881 Emma Jane 52 now living at Water Lane Mentmore and back to claiming to be a Strawplaiter with widowed sister Mary Ann Mercy nee Willis 36 and Mary Anns son Francis J Mercy 5 1891 Emma Jane 62 now living in London as a servant to police sargeant Benjamin Fountain. 1901 Emma J 72 living at 35 Villiers Road New Bushey with her younger sister Zilpha 1901 Emma Jane 80 deceased near Thame which is near Aylesbury, which is where her younger Brother Abraham lived. I have tried the 1861 census in Scotland and she is not on it. SO WHERE WAS SHE REALLY IN 1861 I would be much obliged and very grateful if you could solve this mystery. Best Regards, Ann
