Find Ancestors

Trying to find any descendants of the following.
My GGrandfather George Alfred West m Florence Louisa Liddell 1904 Tynemouth, Northumberland
Children are
Alfred Newton West 1904 Tynemouth
Thomas Edward Newton West 1906 Tynemouth
Ernest Newton West 1907 Tynemouth
Alfred Newton West 1909 Tynemouth
Blanche Newton West 1912 Tynemouth
Arthur Newton West 1914 Tynemouth

I think one of the sons went to Canada & also had a son Ernest West.
Another son had a daughter called Rosiland West.
I think there is also a Raymond West to one of the siblings.

Any help what so ever would be appreciated.

Name of deceased (as known to informant)
Age of deceased (ditto)
Place of residence
Where died
Cause of death
Who certified death
Name of informant, and relationship
Occupation of deceased (as above)


You do not find out any other information, such as children, parents, etc.

There is someone researching this family. I found this:

Ernest Newton West born 19 November 1907 to George Alfred West and Florence Louisa Liddell of 9 Spencer Street, Chirton, England
Married Agnes Constance Chambers of 2 Nov 1905, 4 Penman Street, Chirton, England

They both died in Queensland, Australia. Children:

Constance Newton West - born March 1941, Tasmania (died 1995)
Patricia Blanche West (died 2002)
Beverley Rose West - no dates
Gloria West - no dates
George West - no dates

Ooo, hello Sylvia. Geez those UK death certificates are a bit lacking. The Australian ones have full names, spouses names, all the children and even female's maiden name!

www.freebmd.org ........ is a site that is gradually putting all UK bmds from September 1837 to current day onto the web. Unfortunately, they are currently only up to about 1920/25 for most areas.

That means that the only way to find marriages for your guys is to go to ancestry and look on the Complete Index to Births Marriages and Deaths.

This is just that, an index which has to besearched quarter by quarter, year by year.


Someone on here may be willing to do that for you, although it is a long slog!

They are lacking ..... particularly as so much of the information is dependent on what the informant knows .... which means in most cases of adult deaths what the deceased has told them!!!

This is one of my brick wall families.

Another problem I have if anyone is willing to help with, is George Alfred Wests birth 1882, his father Edward West was a publican according to the marriage cert. it dosn't say much as George was in the army and had no address only age, father noted as deceased.
There is probably no hope in getting his army records as they would have been burnt. He enlisted in London and his army death notes state he was born in Brighton

I did put this question on here quite a while ago but maybe fresh eyes might find something new.

Thanks for that Lew, I have a couple but I have searched the NSW & QLD historical indexes and gleened all the info i could from them, I think some death certs might give places of birth for the parents that I am searching for as i'm not sure if they are Aussie or English.
