Hi,everybody.Looking for help re.George.I found a marriage to a Jane Ann Charlton
in1867,Auckland,1st Q I believe she was the daughter of Thomas Charlton and Jane Graham.Various trees on Ancestry have Jane Ann married to George Lowes,Nicholas McCourt and George Luke,but no George Minikin.Can anybody help
to find the right marriage.Am I following the correct families of Charlton and Minikin??All help appreciated.

My research started with a Mary Minikin who married my Great G'Father,Robert Liddle at Bishop Auckland Registry Office in 1863.She was the daughter of Robert Minikin,b.c.1811,Bishop Auckland and Isabella Robson,b.c.1815,Lanchester.I found the Minikin family in 1851,1861 and 1871.
George was given as their eldest son.
In 1871 George is shown,with Parents,as Widowed and there are 2 Grand children shown(.Possibly Georges children ?). Hope this helps a bit more.

Not if you mean the grandson Robert in 1871, Maddie.

As per my earlier post, he was the son of Elizabeth Miniken.

I'm not sure whose wife she had been. George's brothers John & William are both unmarried in 1871.

You're quite right, Maddie.

I didn't look closely enough at the 1881 Stonehouse/Miniken census, and assumed that young Robert was Jane's brother, but they're cousins, as you rightly pointed out, and Robert is George's son.
