She gives her date of birth as 1880 which makes her 8 years older than her husband - In that situation she may have been tempted to knock a few years off but I doubt very much that she would admit to being 8 years older if she were in fact only 4 years older??? - I can't believe that this is 'your' Carrie.

I wouldn't discount that travel info going to Australia in 1911 - I know that the incoming info in Australia had her as Miss E but I am sure that she was Miss C on the outgoing document. Year of birth slightly out but I think this is still a 'possible' ??

Not sure the 1911 will be much help - place of birth recorded as not known by head of house, so if he didn't know that (as opposed to Carrie not knowing) then maybe the age was a guess.
