Looking for John Dowling born about 1816 in Ireland His Spouse was Sophia also born in Ireland about 1816, but I don't know her maiden name. On the marriage certificate for their Daughter Margaret Dowling on 10th August 1872 in Manchester John's occupation is given as Painter. On the 1861 Census They are living in Manchester (Daughter Margaret age 8) Thank you Pam

the 1881 census say's he is a inmate so in the workhouse so he a pauper would not be a painter then also he is 65yrs

Still having no result in finding a death entry for John Dowling born about 1816 Ireland. I do now have the death certificate for his wife Sophia Dowling who died on 13th November 1868 living at Daniel Street in Salford Manchester this also confirms she was wife of John Dowling House Painter. Her age at death was 48 so looks like birth around 1820 rather than 1816. Cant find John in any census after 1861 only Daughter Margaret appears in 1871 as Boarder which I have all the details for. Have no details of marriage either for John to Sophia I have ordered a birth certificate for what I believe is the right Margaret Dowling born 1852 daughter of John Any more suggestions for finding death for John Dowling after 1868 Thanks and regards Pam
