Morning all,
Dry and bright here today , might go to the coast later .

The birthday tea for Chelsea was lovely ,lots of excitement from the little ones .
Ann, i bought Chelsea a new winter coat , some nice leather boots ,a grey Track Suit with little sequins on ,a pink polo neck sweater ,and some toys .
She had a new Bike from her mummy and daddy and more toys from her other grandparents.
When it came to the cake , son lit the candles and she blew them out before we had a chance to sing Happy Birthday ,so he had to light them again !! lol And we had JELLY !!!!!

Fiona , well done to your daughter for getting the job , what does she have to do ?

We haven't had the heating on yet in the evening ,but i did put a cardi on as my arms were a bit chilly one evening
Enjoy the party Jane , are you driving there or going on the train ?

Afternoon all,

Had an inquiry about my tree this morning and then mum wanted me so I forgot to come and say hello.

Dry again today and OH has cut some of the lawns.

Mum had a boiled egg for brekky and I was pleased with that and she has taken her pills. Also had cup of tea and a glass of water. what a lot for a morning for mum!!

Friend rang from Gorzo to say he had just had a break from having visitors. He used to work for my dad in the building trade and was always a bit of a roque in the nicest way possible. Dad always looked on him as the son he never had. Even gave him three weeks off work so he could go to Gretna Green and marry his girl as he was under age and his parents would'nt let him marry her. He did anyway with the help of dad who gave him money and when parents asked if David was at work dad said he did'nt know where he was. He has always kept in touch and now lives in Gonzo and does bed and breakfast. He also does voluntry work for a dogs home and has about 5 dogs of his own in different sizes.

Afternoon All,

Thank you David and Catie for your good wishes. It is quite chilly here now, no heating on yet but we are wearing long sleeves in the evening.

Chelsea was a lucky girl with all those pressies wasn't she.......and JELLY. lol

Good that they let your daughter know about the job so quickly Fiona. Good position to be able to pick from the 2 jobs too.

Jane will be off to her party now......and a few tipples and some boogeying maybe. lol

I better pick some beetroot now and cook them for some pickle and get tea. Just a salad with some melting camambert.

That sound like a bit of improvement if your mum had one of those lovely eggs Mel.

Hello everyone.I am just home .It was a lunch time /afternoon do,and was very nice.It was lovely to see a lot of people who had been at the Dubai Wedding.
We drove there Mandy.Quite straight forward.A14,A1,A1M then just one junction on the M25 and then about 20 minutes further.About an hour and a half.Came away with yet another wedding invite in November !!.I better get cracking and start looking for a new outfit,as I can't wear the same as I did in Dubai. Then it will be another for the engaged couples wedding next year sometime .
I have had to put a warm top on as it feels really chilly now.
Hannah is back from her holiday and has had a great time.I will now go and have a look at all her photos.

Mel I'm pleased Mum has had a better appetite today.

The Birthday Party sounded great fun Mandy...and Jelly too lol

Ann,do you grow a lot of beetroot? I think that is on the agenda here.We have never grown them before.

Right ,I must go and see these pics.

Hannah is Shocked to see how poor Chester is limping. She said it is so much worse than before she went on holiday.I think because I haven't been around today and she has been snoozing ,he has just been sleeping .So he has stiffened up and is looking very decrepit .Bless !!

Evening all
Been busy all day . church this morning , then OH & I went with daughter no1 & SiL to buy a new car for daughter , she will need a car to get her to this new job.
OH tagged along to help SIL and I tagged along to keep an eye on Sofia.
They decided on a red Focus which was a few years old but still in good condition, it is bigger than the little cleo they have at the moment and will be great for all the lugage that comes with chidren and handy when traveling with suitcases.
Car won't be ready to pick up till next Saturday, so daughter will take the little car and SIL will have to travel by public transport for a couple of days this week.

Mandy ,daughters job is to do with the travel industry, the company is open 24hrs and employers work different shifts. It is like a help line for passengers who have problems traveling and have enquires about airports and problems that may occur when the traveler is at the airport.
Daughter worked in the travel industry for about 8 years before she had Sofia, but unfortunatly her old company wouldn't give her a part time job.

good to read your mum is eating something Mel, hope she is on the mend.

Jane, glad Hannah had a good holiday.

Hi Everyone,

It's been all systems go here. Our furniture is off to a storage depot tomorrow, and so it was all hands to the deck packing up all the bits and pieces. What a job that was !!!! Fortunately, my mum looked after baby Mark, otherwise nothing would have happened lol We have decided to Let our house for 6 mths and during that time we will be staying with BIL and also 'house sitting' a couple of doors away. BIL's neighbours are going back to USA for a couple of months and have asked us to look after their pets etc, whilst they are away. Our house has been Let to a couple of dentists.... Hope they behave themselves .. Didn't fancy the idea at first... until I realised how lucrative it is to rent in SW19.... Silly money... But it will help whilst I'm not working.

Jane... Sounds like you had a lovely time at the party. Hope Hannah's holiday wasn't spoilt by the house business. Would she be able to rent hers do you think?

Fiona... Sounds like you've been busy today. I'm sure that car will be a great help to your daughter, not only for work, but no more struggling on buses. It's also a job she enjoys, which is a bonus.

Sounds like Chelsea had a lovely day Mandy. Bet she was really excited too.

I hope your mum's appetite continues to improve Mel. The fact that she has started to eat must be a weight off your mind.

Crumbs Catie. Are you going to be selling your house ,or moving back in after the 6 months. What pets will you be looking after for the neighbours?I am sure whatever they are you will give them lots of love.
Hannah's mortgage people won't allow to let out the house. She just want's shot of of it anyway.Once it has gone she will have no ties to her Ex.He has paid nothing for 3 years!!.We have said she needs to go and get some expert advice as to her options regarding the house. I don't think Chris is prepared to keep forking out half the Mortgage for ever. What with that, our mortgage, and Uni Fees and accommodation for James. It is a drain on out finances ...........and I want a holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Venice would be lovely again lolol

CatieI Report 19 Sep 2010 21:48

I can understand why you would all want shot of that house Jane. Sounds such a drain, both financially and emotionally. We will be returning home in 6 mths - that's the plan anyway. Ahhhhh, the pets lol. Indoors there is a parrot, who is very choosy about who he befriends lol. Outside are rabbits and guinea pigs. The family are really nice - but it's a madhouse lol

Jane Report 19 Sep 2010 22:08

I am off to bed now .Hannah and Chris have long gone.Just me and the dog still up.Funny knowing James has gone.I will go and tackle his room tomorrow if I dare lol

Sounds as though you will have your hands full with all those animals Catie I know both my girls had two rabbits each when they were young and we were unable to go on many holidays, didn't like leaving them with my mum & dad to often and then when dad got a spaniel we couldn't let the dog out in the garden when the rabbits were out.
so we had to find other accomidation or ask the nieghbours, usually the ones in the street who had children because the kids like to help feed the rabbits.
I'm off to bed now,
be back tomorrow

Morning All,

It rained a little here last night about 8.30. This morning is quite bright and dry.

Mum seems to have a good day and then a bad one. she is still asleep at the moment. she had a very small ham sandwhich last night with a nice Alicante tomato and ate most of the tom and said the ham was nice. I had cooked a little oyster joint which OH had with a jacket pot and cheese and onion sauce.

Pleased Hannah had a nice time and hope the house business did'nt spoil it for her Jane.

Do any of you remember those waxed paper pressed bowls you used to get for parties to put jelly in. They had sort of pointed corners that were coloured.

When I was young we always had a Christmas Party and I had a lot of friends round. Nan and grandad lived with us and they had a half sized billiard table in their room and we would all sit around this. The drink was either orange juice or Tizer. There would be little sandwiches and iced biscuits and sausages on sticks and of course cracker to pull and wear the paper hats. I think I had two fancy dress parties. Cousin Malcomb always came and when we had the fancy dress one he was a policeman. My friends up the road came as an elizabethan couple and jenny had a big wire under her skirt. Ian her brother had those puff trouser things and leggins and a flat sort of hat. Their little younger brother Terry, who was my friend from school came as a cowboy I think. Dennis came as a cricketer and Peter came as a ,ounty and Jane his young sister was Andy Pandy. My sort of cousin Jane came as a fairy all dressed in lemon and I was a pink ballerina. Sassie my friend up the road was a dutch boy as she did dancing classes and they put on little shows so that where her costume came from. Ann from up the road came in a dress of a blue top and black velvet skirt with a huge blue bow at her waist and silver bells sewn all over the skirt. she was Bow Bells. Delia from acros the road came as red riding hood I think.

What a lovely morning.Just my kind of day.I am just doing short walks with Chester at the moment because of his leg.I am looking after my neighbours house and Chester just loves the garden so he has been down there having a root around.I have spotted several conker outer coverings by holes in the grass.I think the squirrels are busy digging them up.
I have to nip off to the bank and pay some cheques in as Chris had forgotten to post them last week.

Home alone, so I will try to catch up.

Had a busy few days, clearing out the greenhouse and garage, Got rid of all the tomato plants in the greenhouse, scrubed the pots and trays, all put away now till next year. The last of the beans were picked on Friday, and we took all the plants out of the big pots, and put away the "WIGWAMS" again till next year. I then decided to sort our the garage. The rubbish has filled the black bin that went this morning, so I can start to fill it again, Why do we keep all these odds and sods, thinking "it will come in handy" it never does so we might as well throw them away in the beginning.!!!!
My new tree arrived on Sat morning. the two coloured one. I had a hole allready prepared in the lawn, so Idug out the earth, mixed a bag of compost, and set it. together with loads of bulbs around the hole. While treading the root ball in, I fell arse over head, had to crawl across the lawn till I could hold onto something to pull myself up.Silly old sod,

It was Ros's 21st birthday yesterday. The family all came at lunchtime and we went to the "TOBY" carvery. It was so busy, we had to find a table in the lounge that would seat seven of us. If we wanred to wait for the Restaurant it was 1 1/2 hours wait. as they only have two tables that will sit that number. Fortunatlly we found one in the lounge and managed ok.

One of her friends has taken her out for lunch today and anafternoon round the garden centre.

You mentioned the other day about the 62/63 winter. I had just moved to a small village called Hullbridge,in Essex. almost on the River Crouch. Dead end road, as there use to be a Ferry across years ago. That winter started on Boxing day. The following morning I had to dig my way out of the house, the drifts were over six feet high. The village was cut off for a good few days. When life got back to normal, The council lorries would come to the river side and tip loads and loads of snow into the river, we would watch as the snow pilesfloated down the river like iceburgs.
In 1979. we had the Post Office Stores in Blisworth, the villagers couldn't get out to Northampton. They cleared us out of fresh veg, milk, bread on the first day.

Glad Mum is showing signs of improvement Mel, hope it continues.

What a Bugge# for Hannah. Can't you get the lowlife of an ex partner into Court to take responsibility for his share of the mortgage and outgoings???? If not I think I would arrange for him to have an accident !!!!

Catie, How are things going with little Mark and the Twins, I think about you every day.

Trust all my "OTHER GIRLS" are well and behaving yourselfs.

I've done it, Not lost it this time.

Hi Everyone.

It's lovely here today - lots of sun and much warmer too.

Frank, you are an industrious chap - where do you get your energy from lol.
Belated Birthday Wishes to Ros. 21 is a very nice age to be :)
Thank you for your kind thoughts Frank. Baby Mark is coming on well. He's putting on weight and a happy little boy. The twins are still 'up and down'. They always have a few tears at bedtime and say that they miss their mum. We can only give them our love and hope in time their pain will ease. It's still early days. They talk about Nicky constantly and it's with such love - I've had to fight back the tears a couple of times.

Jane.... Yes the parrot does talk and he also sulks if he doesn't get enough attention lol
Poor old Chester. If only there was a quick fix for his problem.

Hope your mum continues to improve Mel.

Well, I'm going to enjoy a walk in the sun and take Mark for a little walk in the pram. Bye for now :)

Afternoon All,

Patchy sun and cloud here. Poor Chester with his limpy leg. Are painkillers helping him Jane? We only grow about 6 foot of beetroot Jane, but plant the seeds close and pull a few golf ball sized ones here and there at first like with the carrots and have them with salads. We also pick some of the baby leaves for salads. Now the others have filled out in the spaces and there are plenty to pickle for about half a dozen jars......enough for us two. We find they are trouble free to grow but get the ones that are less likely to bolt like Boltardy.

Catie you are very busy now aren't you. It's good the baby has settled and is gaining weight. The girls will enjoy helping with the neighbours pets though. I must say I love parrots.....I wonder what sort it is and what is his/her name?

Frank that tree will be very pretty.......but you must go at things more gently. OH came in this morning.....another gash on his head off the lampholder on the arbour this time!! He has to take the rotary down now because he keeps crashing his head into it. You'd think someone with no hair padding would be more careful wouldn't you?? Men!!! lol Ros got a nice meal for her 21st after all then. I must say I like carveries, you can pick and choose what you fancy. As usual you are ahead of me in clearing up, I am hoping for a few more beans, but our wigwam is listing badly!! lol A few tomatoes left and then we are going to try some fried green tomatoes with egg and toast later this week to use up the last few.

I had to chase up the tickets for Andre Rieu today, they've had delays in getting them. Going out today 1st class so I hope they are here for Thursday.

My friend's foal is a week late now, but she isn't worried as the one born 2 years ago was a month late. I am looking forward to going to see it when it arrives.

I had a bit of a shock this morning. The window cleaner came as I was out the back settling some more rocks along the border edge at about quarter to 8. OH was sleeping off a migraine. He couldn't make us hear, so climbed over the fence in the drive to get round the back. No more cavorting in next to nothing in the hot weather in the back garden on Mondays for me!!!!! lol

Frank

Frank Report 20 Sep 2010 13:59

Annx, you little hussey you. !!!! Bit of a cheek of the postman to climb over the fence though.
couldn't he have left it on the door step ????

catie, As I am on my own, I think I will take my stick and have a walk round the village. get a bit of fresh air, It's nice here at the moment. but we keep getting clouds coming over. Just though, I can't go out Ros hasn't got a key, and I don't know when she will be home. Go on Ebay instead.
