Morning Mel and Everyone,

A bit murky here at the moment. None of us slept very well as the owls were calling to each other and making quite a noise. At the bottom of BIL's garden is a piece of woodland and it seems that one of the owls was calling to an owl which was sat on our roof. In the early hours of the morning, I sent Andrew out to investigate lol

Mel... I have tried to send the document MaureenNY sent - no luck as yet. Andrew says he will try a little later. I won't put the details on here - it's such a lenghthy story.

Well, I'm going to get cracking with all those jobs now. This eve I'm going to a dance with my OH to raise money for a cancer charity. It's being organised by one of the neighbours, who teaches dance. Think it's the Salsa lol. I'm having to drag my OH along lol

Glad you are on the mend Frank.

Morning Mel and everyone.
Sorry you had a bad night Mel.It's horrible isn't it.I actually had a good night.Maybe you have Mum on your mind.

It is not nice this morning, quite breezy ,but I think the rain is clearing away.I left it a bit later to walk Chester until the rain eased off .

I was reading my book in bed and it mentioned 'the pips' going just before the money ran out in the phone box.I had forgotten about 'the pips' lol

Morning all

Just been busy about the house, sorting things out before I go out for my back class at 10.45.
Was too tired to come on and say goodnight last night as the family had been out to a concert in my church and we stayed behind for coffee later.
It was a very good and unusual music event staring "The Osiligi Warriors" the Kenyan Maasai performing group. who have been traveling around Scotland for the last few months. they have been performing there music and tribal dancing in the Edinburgh Festival and also are doing a tour of schools around Scotland teaching and showing the children there way of life in Kenya.

I will send an e-mail to you about the group, they look fantastic in there costumes.
must go now and get sorted out BBL

Oh There's Catie .
We had owls last night too. Then about 6 oclock one was so close to the house I think in a tree just outside the bedroom window.
I hope you enjoy the Dance.I wouldn't get Chris to one thats for sure lol.

I need to get to Tes** now and then crack on with horrible housework.

Horrible Housework I like that expression!

I have loads of ironing to do but can't seem to face it at the moment. I used to like ironing and seeing it all pile up neat and tidy. There just dos'nt seem to be enough hours in the day now.

Morning friends,

What a fantastic nights sleep I had last night. Had pill about 11.30 in bed and asleep before midnight, woke about 5 30, looked at clock and turned over till 9.30.Had a weird dream, in my second sleep. Could recall everything that happened, told Ros the story over a cup of tea, she didn't seem that interested.!!!! But I enjoyed it.

What a horrible morning, very windy and rain in the air.

Had another book turn up this morning, so will have my head in that today, out in the conservatory where there's more light.

It seems to be clearing up at last. Been raining all morning. I'm glad it's stopped as son is coming over and we are going over to his house. We are against the clock now to put grass seed down but if we don't they will be looking out at mud until next April. A fence has got to go up first, so guess what the labourer will be doing ....... digging holes for the posts. I'm feeling tired just thinking about it. We never have any luck with the weather when we are putting up a fence. I remember when he did mine it was snowing !!!!!! and a time before that it was pouring with rain and we were slopping and sliding around in the mud .......we had a laugh though .......

Glad you are feeling better Frank, a good night's sleep always makes a difference, what's the new book?

Mel is mum any better, perhaps a cocktail of vitamins until she gets her appetite back.

Had a bit of a nasty day mum wise. she could'nt sit on the edge of the bed this morning and I could'nt hold her and OH was in the garden. I had to leave her on the floor while I went to get OH. He soon got her back in bed. I rang the doc to come round and see her as every time she sits up to have a drink she starts to erg.

Doc said it is only a matter of time now as her kidneys are failing. she won't go into hosp. Doc said just to give her plenty of drinks and don't worry about food or her pills. she has supplied a pill to take inside your mouth which should stop her reaching. It just sits down the side of your mouth and disolves.

Frank Report 24 Sep 2010 16:29

Oh Mel,
I am so sorry to hear your latest news of Mum, if she won't go to hospital, it means she is happy where she is, and that is very important to
her. A lot more work for you and Mr. Mel. but I know from your stamina, you will cope. My thoughts are with you both, love to Mum.

My new book is by the same author GILDA O'NEIL "The sins of their Fathers" Story about two East End Gangster families in the sixties.. Have read 8 chapters allready. but my eyes are starting to go fuzzy, so will leave it alone for a while.

Still very unsettled here, Ros has put the heating on for a couple of hours to dry some washing, and warm the place up. No shorts today then,Jane.

Whats happening around the Country/World. Come on everyone tell us what you are upto. Where's Jane?? Late lunch and a few glass's of RED or WHITE and sleeping it off !!!!

Maureen you will have mussles like Geogg Capps if you carry on with all this hard work. Don't over do it, Now, will you.

Tell you what I didn't hear this year was the COOKOO We always heard them when we lived at Gayton, but not for a few years now. Would the OWLS be looking for a mate at this time of the year, ??? or warning others off their patch. always an eary sound, which I quite like, Don't seem to see the Barn owls sitting on field gate posts like you did years ago, not so many around now, i suppose.

So sorry to hear about your Mum Mel, what a worrying time for you. Just popped in to tell you all a cautionary tale! OH needs a Tipper Trailer and saw what he wanted on Gumtree. After all the usual e-mails and checks ,paper work sent to us etc, we VERY stupidly sent a moneygram to said seller, and, you've guessed it, it was a scam and we are the poorer by £1200!!!! Have reported it to the Police who took it very seriously, but of course bye bye money!! Daughter quite horrified that we'd been SO stupid, (I expect you all are too!!) I find it hard to believe that there are such wicked people about, but there you go, never again,! has made me even more wary Mel!!!! OH to hospital for tests next Friday, oh, and elder grandaughter being bullied at school! NOT a good week! daughter furious and taking the school to task so here's for hoping!

Nigglynellie, So sorry you have been stitched up by this BASTAR#.
I always use Ebay, and never ever pay for anything unless its through Ebay. I once saw an Anerican Fridge/Freezer. and they wanted to by paid by Western Union. That sent Alarm bells ringing. So reported it to Ebay and Police in London.Whitehall 1212. the old Telelephone No. for Scotland Yard. They arrested this con . artist. and took action agaist him.
Bet your bottom dolla, this one of yours in known to the police. Lets know how you get on .

Hi Frank, Thanks for your sympathy, I feel so angry with ourselves for being SO stupid! when usually we are ultra careful ,ie: someone ringing up wanting details of Barclay Card or whatever are told to ......off in no uncertain terms, tarmacing the drive is another favorite, again, NO THANK YOU!!! Well, I shall be SO careful now, I shall be suspicious of the check out in Tesco's!!!!! mind you perhaps you do need to be careful of prying eyes with your Barclay Card! Western Union is to be avoided like the plague so I now understand. Better late than never! Will certainly keep you posted on Police progress!

Here I am Frank.I have been busy !!!!!!!!.Not a drop has passed my lips you devil you.Now you have me thinking about that nice chilled white waiting in the fridge lol

Mel,I'm sorry to hear your Mum is getting weaker now.Nurse Jane speaking now.I know you look after her on your own but please remember not to exhaust yourself, and ask for help if you need it.You can get someone in at night so you get a good sleep.I hope she isn't in pain and can remain as comfortable as possible .Give her a gentle hug from me please.

Elizabeth ,that is dreadful. There are some real rogues about aren't there. That's not just a few pounds either!!.Is Gumtree like Ebay?I have never used them.My sister buys lots of things from Ebay, she has had some great furniture although she has had to travel quite far sometimes to pick things up.

Fiona thanks for the pics of the Massai Warriors Don't they look amazing.I think I saw them on TV at the Edinburgh Tattoo.

It's been a funny old day weatherwise.Very Windy, but I can now see little patches of blue.I haven't seen the forecast for the weekend.Hannah is off to Leeds tomorrow with a group of friends for one of their Birthdays.I always think it's funny that they seem to do that these days.Mind you I bet Leeds is far more exciting than anywhere around here lol

Mandy, I agree with you, I have been buying on Ebay for a few years now and will only use PayPal, and only deal with people who have over 98% Feedback, 100% where possible.

Have just turned the heating off, I am in my trousers only now.

Sorry Jane, I know you wouldn't be drinking in the afternoon, you would spill most of it !!!!
