Phew Sheila !!!! I thought you
had the hump and had gone lololololol
Not everything is replied to.Sometimes things get missed and sometimes things are read but not commented on.
Now talking of false teeth. When I was doing my nursing training I was on my first ward and was asked to put the false teeth in for a man who had just died ...........I nearly died. The nurse who was talking me through everything said "Don't worry ,he won't bite" lol.

Trying to follow your instruction Ann but after the down sign and the refresh and stop is Live Search ????

Snap Frank, I had liver, potato and peas for dinner too.

I love your stories about Sophia Sheila, I can just picture her talking.

Have had another visit to the vet, felt a few little lumps behind Alfie's ears, thought it might be fleas, she wasn't sure but sprayed him all over and rubbed it all in, he really enjoyed that ....lol Everytime I put him down he comes back and climbs up my leg, my poor legs, covered in scratches.

Beginning to think pets are more expensive than children, at least their medical treatment is free......lol

Son has got the keys to his house today and has asked me to go over with them tomorrow to sort out the garden, it's a jungle he says. So plenty of exercise tomorrow.

I sounded in a huff again I was only just saying my poem got a good reception like the one at school I think I put something about a poof in the window and it should have been poofe Sophia put puff. I had better go and re kindle my brain.
It sounded strange poof being sold in a charity shop whatever next. The guy with the teeth was awful made me feel sick face to face with him it was the lady behind him made me laugh she looked so disgusted and was so dry with her comment. It just amused me so much nite nite.

Morning All
Very windy & cloudy expecting rain later on so OH is cutting the grass at the moment. Then he's off to lay down the bathroom floor covering up at my dads this afternoon after lunch. never a dull moment for him at the weekends. busy , busy ,

Daughter no 1 e-mailed me some pics of when she was expecting Sofia . my MIL gave Sofia a 5 year baby book as a christmas present and daughter has asked me to fill it in as she doesn't get the time so I have been writing in ifo and sticking in pics. it's coming along fine , and is really enjoyable to see her progress over this last year.

Morning All,

Wet atart to the day and it looked really miserable out there but the sun is trying to shine at the moment. How long for is anyones guess!

Ann I thought you looked a bit like Maureen Lipman too, it must have just been the hairdo I think as she had her hair something like that years ago.

Sheila I had never heard that redition of Goldilocks before.

When in secondry school our class had to recite Abu Ben Adam. I can remember having to learn it and it took us ages. I can still remember most of it so the teacher did a good job. Of course at the time I had no idea what it was about!!!!

And here it is!!!!

Abou ben Adam

Abou ben Adam (may his tribe increase!)

awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,

And saw, within the moonlight of his room,

Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,

an angel, writing in a book of of gold.

Exceeding peace had made Ben Adam bold,

And to the Prescence in the room he said:

"What writest thou?" The vision raised its head,

And, with a look made of all sweet accord,

Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."

"And is mine one?"said Abou, "Nay, not so,"

Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,

But cheerily still, and said, "I pray thee, then,

Write me as one who loves his fellow men."

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night

It came again, with a great awakening light,

And showed the names whom love of God had blest,

And lo! Ben adam's name led all the rest.

Morning all,
Home alone as usual for Saturday. Ros went of about 10.00 be back 1.30/2.00.

Had terrible night last night. dreaming, tossing and turning, then had the trotts. 4.am. must have been something I ate. Ros is fine. One dream I was cooking breakfast for loads of people, the sausages got burnt and someone turned nasty. So I threw the lot over him, and told him to do it himself. I was then laying my head on a ladies BRA.!!!!! What goes on in your head when you are restless !!!!

Don't fancy your chances for the BBQ Jane, very overcast and quite windy. The humidity is close to 85% and dosen't look like improving as the day goes on. But you can hope. Get the gazebo out and fix it well down.

Been thinking about your little pussy Maureen, I bet he's on the go morning till night. only stopping to eat and sleep. Bless him.!!!!

I reseeded part of the lawn yesterday, under the tree, I covered it will "bubble wrap", but took it off again this morning in case it kills the lawn around it. Now I suppose the birds will have a feast.

MillymollyAmanda Report 21 Aug 2010 11:48

Morning all,
Still windy here and really muggy .

Yes Sheila, i see what you mean about Ann looking a bit like Maureen Lipman ,i think its the hair .

Lets hope the weather turns out good for the BBQ .

I think when my Dad reseeded the lawn he used to put a lot of stakes in the ground and wind string round the stakes in a criss cross fashion to stop the birds pecking the seed .

Hubby's started doing a bit more in the hallway ,he's putting some new beads on the edges of the walls ready to scim them so we have nice smoth walls ,they are so bumpy when we had them papered you couldn't see the bumps but now i just want them Emulsioned they need to be done , he's got to do the walls on the landing too ,then down the stairs which are very high walls to do .

Got to buy a new Hairdryer ,was using mine when it started slowing down and then i could smell burning !!! time to turn it off i thought before i get Electrocuted !!!!

Hellooooo

Jane

Jane Report 21 Aug 2010 13:52

Well the sun is shining now !! so lets hope it stays like this for the next few hours. We are going down at 2.30.Then I think we will all have to hide and be quiet when Norma and Colin arrive.
The garden on the other side of us is full of tents!Looks like the daughter will be having a party this evening.it looks like a mini Glastonbury lol
It's quite windy here ,but so flipping sticky.

Frank I have never heard of using bubblewrap for covering grass seeds.

Annx

Annx Report 21 Aug 2010 14:06

Afternoon All,

This is Maureen Lipman.....the Ann lookalike!! lol Gawd yes I could have been rich......too late now though.......the looks have gone!!

How nice to do a book of Sofia Fiona......be nice to look back in the future. I wish our parents had done these things. I was watching the Home Movies programme last night and it is amazing that even in the 20s and 30s some had movie cameras and recorded not only their families but events and daily life. So much gets lost as time passes. I was thinking how shopkeepers used to reckon up out loud and how clippies on the bus would pull the cord to make 2 dings for the driver to move off.

Much more rain here overnight but it is a bit cooler today. OH gone to footie and I am sewing his PJ trousers. He likes thin cotton knee length ones in summer, but I haven't been able to find any this year so I'm shortening some long ones. As soon as he saw me with the pins..... out came a jacket with a button he wants sewing on!!

Mandy I hate it when you can smell burning with a hairdryer......I imagine flames and a bald head next!! lol

Annx

Annx Report 21 Aug 2010 14:18

Jane will you be hiding then like the Ground For*e team? lol No, bonfires with baked potatoes were the closest we got to barbeques years ago. How did Hannah find her interview yesterday?

Bubblewrap sounds a good idea Frank. If it was smooth side up, the air could circulate between the bubbles and the light would get through to the grass around the seed.

Glad you put that up Mel about Abu Ben Adam as I only knew the first 2 lines.

Jane

Jane Report 21 Aug 2010 14:27

I don't do sewing Ann!.Except the odd button or two.I never could get to grips with a needle and thread and Hated Needlework at school. My old primary school teacher (Ruth)the one who I still keep in touch with .She is 91.,always tells me how dreadful I was at sewing and even remembers the skirt I made lol
I must have made an impression.
Sun still out !!.I will try and find the first thing I made at school. It is a bit of blue material with frayed edges(Looks like a waffle) and I did several rows of all different stitches.I know it is somewhere .The last time I saw it ,it looked brand new ,the coloured threads still bright.
Right I am off now .Back later.I don't think the BB will go on too long as I think they will be Cream Crackered after their hol in Rome .I know I would want to collapse in a heap .

I think that poem was really lovely Mel,I hadn't heard it before but I've made a note of it to copy into'My Book' of poems that I love. Not much doing here today, very humid and, when the sun comes out (?!) very hot! have hung washing on the clothes horse in the green house, should dry well in there!! Making crab cakes for supper, which are delicious!!!
