Hi All-----It's 11.30pm and 29--and going up??? About killed me yesterday
really makes you feel one's age in this heat---and i was doing so well

I was wondering if Sheila is in the process of getting her new computer and setting up,maybe that is why she is not around.

Phew I'm pooped after doing the garden. I have painted the hanging basket brackets and the ones for the lights on the arbour too. OH has started moving the gravel so we can move the rock edges of the borders to the new positions and he has moved the alpine pinks off what remained of the rockery so he can top up the pond hole with the soil.

Shirl it showed 24 degrees in the car when we went out to eat, HOT for me but COOL compared to your heat. lol

Jane, I hate it when things go off in the night!! It's usually a car alarm around here and I have to get up in case it is mine or OH's. They all sound the same to me. lol

It's been hot hasn't it Ann.I did a fair bit of clearing Ivy and weeds in the front this afternoon.I'm all itchy now lol
The smoke alarm didn't actually go off .It was the battery going ,so every few minutes there was a BEEP.It's been replaced now .The other noise I heard last night was a humming mechanical type of sound.I think it was from the Land fill site down the A14.It wasn't loud but I could hear it .

James made me laugh earlier.He told me he sneezed suddenly the other day over his laptop.Today he couldn't press one key down ,so he had a little dig and out popped a dried up bit of Sn**.I hope I haven't made anyone feel sick.I just thought it was hillarious lol

Just going to corn the chickens and then get the dinner. Pasta with turkey ham, toms, courgettes, mushrooms and mange tout all in a nice cheese sauce.

I know it's gross Mel ,but it did make me laugh lol

Back and knees ache this morning after all the 'down upsy' on the steps and bending to tie the loganberries in yesterday. Another sunny morning and we are off to another be healthy be heard talk....on neurological things this time. Must remember to call in Tes*o on the way back.....some offers advertised on cleaning stuff and I need some bleach.

Have to book my car in for it's first MOT.......I do hate it when you go back for it and the 'not knowing' !!!!!

Well I better go and tidy myself up ready for our trip out now..........hairy legs and chipped nail varnish to see to!! lol

Mel it was a bit Autumnal here early on.There was a bit of mist over the fields at the front.It looked lovely.

Shirl.I hope Hannahs job will work out fine.The problem will be her having to commute to London each day and I think it is going to be exhausting.In the New year she is hoping to move there and share a flat with a friends friend.
She will start the job in October,as she will have to give a months notice and have checks done for criminal records.(She's clean lol)

Am seeing Fitz later.I have a feeling he has the will of 'UNCLE',so I'm hoping to get a look at that too.Will put forward all your theories regarding the letter.

Weather nice to day hopeing it's stays nice for the weekend as there's a garden party on a dad's care home on Saturday between 2-4pm, it will be a shame if it's wet and it being lovely all week. but you can't sort the weather can you.

Physiotheripist phoned this morning to organise what time I was to come for my first back exercise class tomorrow I'm to be at the sports centre at 11.15 to fill in forms, class starts at 11.30. then finishes at 12.30,
I hope I won't be to exausted to baby sit Sofia in the afternoon. mind you I get enough exercise playing with her.

Jane, Fitz certainly has some good family papers in his keep. I have my grandparents wills but there is no secrets in those.

Haven't done much this morning, made 6 jars of marmalade from one of those tins. Thin cut, with plenty of flavour. just how I like it.

Ordered more Bulbs and plants from Spaldin# plants. Always good stuff at a fair price.

No 2 son has been on SKYPE for 45 minutes. so haven't been able to post.
Ros and her friend have gone to the afternoon showing at the theatre. Some musical with Divanna McCall. at the Royal and Derngate. Be home about 5pm.

Roast shoulder of lamb tonight. Cook very slowly on a low heat. The meat just drops of the bone. Fresh mint sauce, new pots. Runner beans peas and carrots and broad beans.

Well what an interesting couple of hours I have had with Fitz.He has so much family history.A family tree going back to 1506 !!.Loads of letters ,photos,and all sorts.He said none of his family is interested in it all ,and is so pleased he can show it all to me.
His Grandmother (the girl in that letter) was left nearly £70,000 in 1909 when she was 22.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Not sure how to work out what that be in todays money.But it must be a couple of Million at least I would think.
Boy it is hot this afternoon.There are lots of old planes flying about ,some in formation.I think they may be practising for the Duxford Airshow.

Jane how old was ''The-Uncle'' of Fritz's grandmother when he died?? and did he have any other siblings?
